Dress Code 2007 - 2008

PRE-K

  • Boys and Girls Allowed to wear weather appropriate, clean play clothes, free from tears that is easily washable. All shirts must have a sleeve; no spaghetti straps. Also, children need to wear closed toe shoes (tennis shoes) everyday for safety purposes. The children play outside every day and will have regular P.E. classes throughout the school year. All clothing will reflect Christian standards.

K-5 BOYS AND GIRLS

  • Shirts and Blouses Solid color, white or red with a collar. Shirts and blouses must be tucked in at all times. HFS shirts may be worn.

  • Pants and Slacks Solid colors, navy blue or tan khaki and of the dress variety, may be worn from November 6th through March 2nd. Pants must be loose fitting and in good condition with no decorative stitching, no brand names, or no cargo style. STRETCH PANTS AND LEGGINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

  • Sweaters Only white, navy blue or red knit (crew, v-neck, or cardigan). Approved HFS sweatshirts may be worn over the approved shirt or blouse.

  • Dresses Plaid jumpers (blue/red) from French Toast or solid blue jumpers from French Toast. (Pants and slacks may be worn if the temperature forecasted by Channel 8 or KRNT radio is to be below 40 degrees.) Catalogs are available at the school. Skirts or skorts are not allowed for K-5 girls.

  • Walking Shorts Navy blue or tan khaki walking shorts, neatly hemmed and not more than three inches above the knee. Cargo style shorts will not be allowed. Shorts may be worn from the beginning of the school year through October 6th , and after April 30th until the end of the school year.

  • Jewelry Girls Small post earrings, watches, religious necklaces, and jewelry for medical reasons will be allowed.

  • Jewelry BoysWatches, religious necklaces, and jewelry for medical reasons will be allowed. No earrings are to be worn.

6-8 BOYS AND GIRLS

  • Shirts and Blouses Solid colors, white or red with a collar. Shirts and blouses are to be kept tucked in at all times. HFS shirts may be worn.

  • Pants and Slacks Solid colors, navy blue or tan khaki and of the dress variety, may be worn from November 6th through March 2nd. Pants must be loose fitting and in good condition with no decorative stitching, no brand names, or no cargo style. STRETCH PANTS AND LEGGINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

  • Denim Shirts Special denim shirts will be available for purchase at the school for grades 6-8. These shirts have the Holy Family School Logo on them and may be worn as part of the school uniform. Denim shirts must be kept tucked in at all times.

  • Skirts

ALL GRADES

  • Hair Hair must be clean and well groomed at all times. Hair length for boys must not be over the collar and not below the eyebrows. Facial hair is not permitted. Modest hair bleaching is permitted at the discretion of the principal. No hair coloring is allowed.

  • Shoes Shoes must be clean and in good condition. They must remain tied at all times and have good laces. Socks must be worn at all times. No sandals are to be worn; only closed toe shoes. No high heeled platform shoes are to be worn. Clogs or Crocs with back straps may be worn.

  • Under garments Girls may wear plain, white camisoles under uniform tops and boys may wear plain, white t-shirts under uniform tops. Undershirts with logos or wording are not allowed. No colored under garments or shirts are allowed.

  • Tattoos Tattoos (this includes washable tattoos) are not permitted.

  • Makeup The wearing of makeup is not allowed.

  • Fingernail polish Artificial fingernails are not allowed. Light colored or clear fingernail polish may be worn.

  • Belts

  • All students in grades K-8 must wear a belt with pants, skirts, or shorts if they have belt loops
